Bountiful Baked Breads Delivered to Your Doorstop for Free

By Minna A in Food on Dec 8, 2010 7:00PM

This week, we seem to have dough on our minds, from fear of flour to cases of cookies. The most basic, but also most essential, among these delectable doughy creations is bread. Now for those lucky few living in the Edgewater, Rogers Park, Andersonville and Uptown neighborhoods, local bakery Flourish is offering a weekly delivery of your favorite fresh baked breads... for FREE.

Flourish lives by three integral principles of great bread making: use all-natural ingredients, follow a strict, proven process and wait patiently for proper fermentation. Flourish bakers have decades of experience in developing natural yeasts and dough mixing, with some of their breads taking 70 hours from start to table. The careful process leads to crowd-pleasing results: soft and moist loaves of delectable bread.

Stay warm and cozy at home, as these fresh-baked artisan breads can be delivered to your door in three easy steps:

  • Pick a loaf: Flourish offers a wide variety of loaves from white and whole wheat, to buttermilk rolls and baguettes. Feeling adventurous? Sign up for the “Bread du Jour”, which is typically a seasonal variety or a small batch loaf.
  • Pick a day: Whole wheat Wednesdays? Sourdough Sundays? It’s up to you!
  • Pre-Pay: The Home Bread Delivery program is available to those who pre-pay with a credit card.

Looking to sample before you buy? Head over to the Flourish website which showcases their many breads as well as pastries; or check out the gallery. But looking at photos is no substitute for a stop in the store.

Flourish Bakery and Cafe is located at 1138 W. Bryn Mawr Ave.
