Rahm Emanuel cleared another hurdle in his fight to stay on the ballot for next month's election. Cook County Judge Mark J. Ballard ruled that Emanuel should remain on the ballot today, upholding last week's decision by the Board of Election Commissioners.

Election law attorney Burt Odelson, who has time on his hands now that James Meeks is no longer running, said he and other objectors to Emanuel's place on the ballot based on residency issues plan to appeal the verdict tomorrow to the Appellate Court. Ballard ruled that Odelson and other objectors failed to prove that Emanuel abandoned his Ravenswood home when he became White House Chief of Staff.
