Always Wanted to Go Ice Fishing? Do it in Style.

By Anthony Todd in Food on Jan 5, 2011 7:40PM

Winter Photos Hotel001.jpg We have always secretly wanted to try ice fishing. It's worth noting that we are the strange weirdos who celebrate snow in April, so winter-related rationality is not our strong suit. In any case, we can't be the only sophisticated urbanites who secretly want to drill holes in a lake! If you wanted to try ice fishing in style, you don't have to go sit out on the lake alone and frightened. Instead, book at the Bella Vista Suites in Lake Geneva. They are running a "deluxe" ice fishing promotion that might catch your eye.

Starting at around $115 per person, packages include rooms and a complete ice fishing experience. The nomenclature makes us giggle - you will be booking a "deluxe shanty" package. The price includes equipment, bait, heaters and the opening of holes in the ice. Transportation is also provided. If you have no clue what you are doing, and don't want to fumble around, guides are available for $35 per person per day. Guests will also get a complimentary bottle of champagne (or a six-pack of Wisconsin beer) in your ice shanty.

This deal goes until February 28th. Looking for a creative Valentine's Day present? Look no further.

Bella Vista Suites is located at 335 Wrigley Drive in Lake Geneva.
