"One for the Road:" Chicago (When They Were Funky)

For a lot of folks, guitarist Terry Kath was the emotional heart of Chicago. The band's shift to the softer lite rock that earned them their money in the 80's started well before Kath died in 1978 at the age of 31 of an accidental gunshot wound to the head. Kath, in those later years, struggled with his weight and was unhappy about the direction of the band. Peter Cetera said that, had Kath lived, he would have been the first member of the band to leave.

So let's raise a glass to a more naive time when the band had some soul.
