Voter Registration Up for February Election

2010_11_2_proof.jpg Tomorrow is the deadline set by the Board of Elections for Chicago residents to register to vote in the February election. Here's a good sign that turnout for the first non-Daley election in a generation is going to be good next month: voter registration is up in every ward.

Voter registration is particularly up in predominantly African American wards. Carol Moseley Braun, Danny Davis and James Meeks all had well-organized voter registration drives, which could account for the increase, even though a recent Tribune poll said that the race of a candidate isn't a primary factor in how they'll vote for mayor next month.
