Blago: Play the Tapes We Want to Play

Rod Blagojevich's attorneys filed a second pre-trial motion today to have 100 hours of phone recordings played in his April retrial on corruption charges. Blagojevich's attorneys say the recordings, taped prior to his December 2008 arrest, will show the former governor was trying to cut a legal deal to seat Attorney General Lisa Madigan in the Senate seat that was vacated by Barack Obama's election to the Presidency.
The motion says that Blagojevich's repeated mentions of Lisa Madigan counter any claims by the prosecution that they were a ruse to hide any deals Blagojevich was trying to make.
