Great Discounts with Drink Deck Chicago

Who doesn't love free drinks? If you're a bar-goer and you don't have Drink Deck Chicago, you are spending too much money. We've written before about discount "decks"- 52 playing card-sized coupons that give you discounts at 52 different restaurants. This one is a little different. Instead of restaurants, this deck gets you discounts at bars. If you look now, you can get a free trial of the iPhone app that gets you a $10 discount for nothing but a click.

Drink Deck Chicago comes in both card and app form - we took a look at the app. Produced by The App House and available for ipad and iphone, the app is easy to navigate. Simply swipe to shuffle through the cards, which are arranged in alphabetical order. All the legalese (minimum $30 purchase) is on the front page, and there is a great map feature so you can find bars near you. When you use the "card" at a bar or restaurant, all the server has to do is touch the corner.

It also includes several gastropubs, if you're more food oriented. With food and drink spots like Branch 27, The Bluebird, Paramount Room and Simone's, almost everyone can get the full value out of Drink Deck. The cost is about $35 for the physical deck or $20 for the app, which means you only have to use 2 coupons and it pays for itself. The deck contains $520 in discounts.

Last week, Drink Deck Lite was released. A free download in the Itunes Store, it gives you a $10 coupon to Red Head Piano bar for nothing, just to try out the system. At the very least, you should give that a download. Free drinks!
