Complaint Filed Against Local Political Action Committee

2011_2_15_FABC.jpg A complaint has been filed with state election officials against the nascent political action committee For a Better Chicago by the Illinois Campaign for Political Reform in the hopes that FABC's undisclosed donor list will be made public.

FABC, under the leadership of former Daley campaign manager and Democratic operative Greg Goldner, has raised over $850,000 for a slate of largely incumbent aldermanic candidates and is not required by law to disclose its donor list. Illinois Campaign for Political Reform Deputy Director David Morrison told Chicago News Co-Op the complaint likely won't make a difference for next week's election, but hopes a ruling in his organization's favor will be made in time for the April 5 runoffs. Neither Goldner nor FBAC is endorsing a mayoral candidate, preferring instead to focus on City Council races where the committee believes would further Daley's pro-business agenda.
