Of the $922 million collected by the Attorney General's office, $284 million came as a result of litigation against the tobacco industry. Another $236 million were the result of collecting estate-tax revenues. And that all goes to the state; Madigan's office operated with a $30 million appropriation from Springfield last year, the lowest level of funding for the office in 13 years.
