Do This: North Shore Cocktail Hour at Bar Deville

2011_2_bar_deville.jpgNo. 1: This damned month called February is over; let's celebrate. No. 2: Post-Oscars appraisals are a great way to break the ice. No. 3: Discounted Martinis. As a service to readers, we've supplied the preceding good reasons in case you felt like you needed one to justify going out this coming Monday. The occasion is a special cocktail hour at Bar Deville hosted by North Shore Distillery.

On Monday the 28th from 8 to 10 p.m., staff from the Lake Bluff distillery (which turns out gins, vodka, absinthe and aquavit) will be holding court at Bar Deville to meet their fans and discuss spirits-making...or, if you prefer, whether that James Franco is stretching himself too thin.

"We are serving some cocktails from deep in the archives that night," says North Shore's Sonja Kassebaum. "Both Brad Bolt from Bar Deville and I are digging in our old cocktail books and finding some great gems to serve. We're aiming for two to three special cocktails to serve that night." If the prospect of arcane beverages doesn't get you in the door, maybe a Martini made with North Shore Distiller's Gin No. 6 will; they'll be available at a special discount during cocktail hour.

Bar Deville is located at 701 North Damen Avenue.
