Pitchfork Music Festival Line-up Begins To Unfold

By Tankboy in Arts & Entertainment on Mar 4, 2011 5:10PM

2011_11_p4k_music_fest_logo.png Tickets to the 2011 Pitchfork Music Festival in Union Park are on sale starting today, and to spur folks along towards purchase of said tickets, the organizers have released the first glimpses into the line-ups o soundtrack July 15 through 17. We're beginning to notice festival fatigue making its way even into this local stalwart with a number of P4K Fest alumni making repeat appearances.

We'll refrain from making any jokes or questioning Animal Collective's opening night headline slot (for now) but we're pleased to see the inclusion of Kylesa's brainy metal and Yuck's throwback to Dinosaur Jr-stylee noise wash and melody. Tickets are $45 a day and $110 for three day passes, and while we've heard some grumbling about the price hike this year we think that of all the big fests, P4K is one of the few where you actually see every dollar at work on site and onstage. Hopefully some of that extra dough will go towards beefing up and perfecting the sound system
