Rhymefest Picks Up Endorsements

By Chuck Sudo in News on Mar 4, 2011 6:26PM

Che "Rhymefest" Smith may be getting attacked by 20th Ward Ald. Willie Cochran about his lyrics in the days leading up to their April 5 runoff election. But Smith gained some ground earlier this week when he was endorsed by three former opponents from last week's election. One of Smith's endorsers, George Davis, echoed the issues of high crime and vacant lots that's a cornerstone of Smith's campaign.

Davis also won 16 percent of the vote in the 20th Ward last week. Smith, who said when he received the endorsements that 54 percent of the ward voted against Cochran. needs more developments like this to happen if he stands a chance of defeating Cochran next month.
