Morning Box Score: Bulls Avoid Hornet Trap

By Chuck Sudo in News on Mar 8, 2011 3:30PM

After Sunday's thrilling win in Miami, last night's game against the Hornets had all the makings of a "trap" game for the Bulls. New Orleans came into the game without All-Star guard Chris Paul, who's out recovering from a concussion. And it seemed as though the Hornets were set to escape thee United Center with an upset, thanks to the play of backup guard Jarret Jack (23 points). But the Hornets went cold the last 3:14 of the game and the Bulls pulled out the 85-77 win.

Derrick Rose once again paved the way for Chicago with a game-high 24 points and 9 assists. Carlos Boozer complemented Rose's game with 19 points and Joakim Noah controlled the paint with 13 rebounds. The Bulls next travel to Charlotte hoping to split the season series with the Bobcats tomorrow night (6 p.m., CSN Chicago-Plus, ESPN AM 1000)
