Sable Makes Food and Wine's "Best New Bars" List

2011_3_11_Sable.jpg It's no secret that we are big fans of Sable Kitchen & Bar. We previewed it, interviewed the chef; heck, we even had a staff dinner there. Chef Heather Terhune and head bartender Mike Ryan do wonderful work, and their efforts are paying off on a national scale. In their April Issue, Food and Wine Magazine selected Sable as one of the best new bars in America. The only other Chicago spot to get the nod was the (still-unopened) Aviary.

Food and Wine puts it best:

"The 16-page drink menu at Hotel Palomar's bar quotes Jean-Jacques Rousseau, lists cocktails like the Chuck Yeager (rum with cinnamon bark syrup) and boasts one of the city's largest amber spirits collections."

Great job, folks. Keep it up.

Sable Kitchen & Bar is located at 505 N. State Street.
