Countdown to Rahmageddon: Swept Away!

The Sun-Times maps out how strong Mayor-elect Rahm Emanuel performed in last month's election. Or, if you wish to think of it another way, how poorly Carol Moseley Braun did.
In what the Bright One calls the first neighborhood analysis of the mayoral election, Emanuel won 2,106 of the city’s 2,570 precincts. Gery Chico won 411 precincts and Miguel del Valle 52, Braun, meanwhile, won a single precinct.
UIC political science professor Dick Simpson is quoted in the article as saying race was the most important clue to voting, other than party identification. Then Simpson seems to contradict himself immediately by saying of Emanuel's strong showing in the black community, “It is progress to the extent that it is not an automatic race vote. Voters are taking into account who will best take care of their needs."
