The Park District is sending out press releases fast and furious in recent days. Last week they announced the vendor list for Taste of Chicago and now the full lineup for this summer's "Movies in the Parks" series is announced. The Movies in the Parks series is an eclectic mix of new movies, classic and family fare spread out across the city and marks a return of screenings at Grant Park.

The Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events is sponsoring the first screening at Grant Park's Grove 5 at Balbo and Columbus, the coming-of-age bicycle epic Breaking Away on June 14. Other movies screening at Grant Park presented by the new CPD Lake Side Classics series over the summer include Dr. No on Aug. 16; A Raisin in the Sun Aug. 23; and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf Aug. 30.

The series kicks off with a bang June 14 with a screening of North by Northwest along Belmont Harbor. Dirty Dancing will also screen there June 21 and The Greatest Show on Earth June 28. Giving the South Side of the lakefront some love, 63rd Street Beach will be the setting for screenings of Jaws on July 12; Barbershop and Babe on July 26.
