Daley Bestows Oprah With Her Own Street

Both Mayor Daley and Oprah Winfrey are riding off into the sunset together, so it makes sense that one of MayDay's final acts be proclaim the stretch of Carpenter Street outside Harpo Studios "Oprah Winfrey Way." Daley made the announcement this afternoon at a press conference outside Harpo Studios. Daley told Winfrey, "There's not enough time to describe what your 25-year journey has meant to Chicago."

Winfrey thanks Daley and then declared, "This place is my terra [sic]. Scarlett O'Hara should have known Chicago."

Is there time to edit Oprah into the Walter E. Smithe commercial?
