With Warm Weather Comes the Guns

It's unfortunately as much a sign of spring in Chicago as outdoor dining, pale complexions and losing baseball. A rash of gun violence broke out yesterday afternoon and evening, killing one and wounding at least 10. Police are investigating and suspect all the shootings to be gang-related.

The one man killed, 21-year-old Jesus Gamboa was sitting in a car with another man when they were fired upon in the Avondale neighborhood. An 18-year-old was shot in the head in a park in rogers Park and is in critical condition. Four Bronzeville residents were treated for gunshot wounds.
