Mitt Romney Thinks He's Funny, Likes Gino's Pizza

2011_05_29_romney_pizza.jpg
On Friday presidential contender Mitt Romney visited Gino's East and afterward sent his deep-dish leftovers to Obama's Chicago election headquarters as a prank. We're confused. How is that funny? Hey Mitt, is your refrigerator running? Do you have Prince Albert in a can?

Romney tweeted:

Great deep dish at @ginoseast. Sending the extra slices to @barackobama and his Chicago HQ team http://twitpic.com/52v65c

The Washington Post called it a "pizza prank fail," and Huffington Post called it the prank "that no one understands because Romney is bad at humor."

If you base your 2012 vote on presidential pizza choices, is it more offensive that Romney likes the mediocre slices at Gino's? Or that Obama has snubbed Chicago and claimed that the best pizza is at Pi in St. Louis?

The people who get it really got it, and those who didn't get it didn't want to. Sounds like the Post is party to trying to put an Obama friendly spin on a very warm gesture by Mitt that happens to double as a "guess who's campaigning two blocks from your staff HQ." Nice to see Romney plugging small business in the town Obama forgot. (One among so many!)

    "Obama friendly".  Nope.

Obama sucks, Romney sucks a bit worse.

  • I'd be a lot more inclined to believe that this was a "very warm gesture by Mitt" if we didn't find out about it because *his people* told us.

And as far as restaurants in Chicago go, Gino's hardly qualifies as small business.

Obama and his fans bring new meaning to the word Jerk...

Romney wasn't being thoughtful, it was Romneys way of saying Obama was going to be eating the scraps off the Romney table.  Romney is a jerk and doesn't belong in the White House.

Mormony? Mormonish? Now that I typed the above, I can't decide.

    Mormonic.

Call me crazy, but maybe Mitt Romney was just trying to be thoughtful?  His religion certainly teaches that I think.

    Mormon 13th Article of Faith:
"We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things."

"BelieveinAmerica" is a Mitt Romney astroturfer.  Look at the activity on their profile.

No,Romney believes in being a Jackazzz

  • Mimihaha

Nah, if he acts too Mormony the Religious Right won't vote for him. I think he thought it would be funny, rather like teenagers ordering pizzas to be delivered to people who didn't order them. Only he got it wrong since he paid for it.
