Man in Jail on Weapons Convictions Charged with Murder
A man who was already in Cook County Jail awaiting sentencing on a weapons conviction was charged with triple homicide. 24-year-old Roberto Cerda was charged with first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of Andres Butron, 34, Ernesto Aleguin, 42 and Hector Romero, 28. Their bodies were found in a car on the Southwest side in May 2010.

Cerda is associated with a crew of who robbed and dealt in drug-trafficking led by Arturo Ibarra. Ibarra and his crew are allegedly connected to over a dozen murders. Ibarra was killed by police in February after murdering two people in an Edgewater robbery.
