Music. Friendly. Dancing. Visits Chinatown

By Sarah Cobarrubias in Arts & Entertainment on Jun 2, 2011 4:00PM

Empty Bottle’s Music. Friendly. Dancing. series has been running smoothly since its inception in March. This Saturday, the free, monthly concert series returns for its fourth installment. But instead of its usual locale, the event will take place at Chinatown restaurant Hing Kee.

Duly titled “Damn, Son - Dim Sum,” this month’s installment will feature two Bottle regulars: garage rock soloist Nobunny, who performs clad in a fuzzy bunny mask (not the cute kind) -- also playing earlier that day at Do-Division -- and psych-rockers CAVE.

It’s no surprise the Bottle is borrowing space with all the business it’s been doing lately - the main venue hosts Dengue Fever Saturday night, and Beauty Bar (its affiliated venue) hosts Bonobo, both after-parties for Do-Division, which Empty Bottle is sponsoring - but what a strange location to choose. Not that we’re complaining. We’re more than happy to take in some good tunes in an intimate setting while enjoying some tasty, hand-pulled noodles.

Like all MFD installments, this show is FREE with RSVP through Ticketweb. But admission is not guaranteed; it’s first-come, first-serve, so arrive early.

The Empty Bottle and 312 Goose Island present Music.Friendly.Dancing Damn, Son - Dim Sum this Saturday, June 4 at Hing Kee, 2140 S Archer, 8 p.m., FREE with RSVP, 21+
