Algren: "My Kind of Town," Paterson Is

In 1975, Nelson Algren traveled to Paterson, NJ to write a magazine story about Rubin "Hurricane" Carter; he later moved there permanently. The website Open Culture recently discovered a lighthearted chat between Studs Terkel and Algren in which the author indicates that he didn't really miss the Hog Butcher to the World. It's a wonderful look into Algren's deadpan sense of humor.

I called Art Shay to try and get some corroboration and backstory to this. When re responds, I'll update.
