Cardinals 5, Cubs 4 (12 Innings)

Albert Pujols was a Cubs Killer once again. The Cardinals slugger belted two home runs, including the walk-off game winner off Jeff Samardzija in the 12th inning. The Pujols jack overshadowed what was an impressive showing by the Cubs bullpen up to that point. Carlos Pena homered for the Cubs.

Tigers 4, White Sox 2

At U.S. Cellular Field, Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera ended a four-game White Sox win streak with a two0out, two-run home run off of Jesse Crain in the ninth inning. The White Sox wasted a n eighth inning opportunity to take the lead after Brent Morel singled and Juan Pierre sacrificed him into scoring position. Third base coach Jeff Cox held Morel up on a Alexei Ramirez single to left, Carlos Quentin struck out looking and AJ Pierzynski hit a grounder back to winning pitcher Justin Verlander.
