Learn To Shred Like Marnie Stern

Before opening for The Flaming Lips July 8 at the Aragon Ballroom, Kill Rock Stars shredder Marnie Stern will showcase her furious finger-tapping in a far more intimate setting. Stern is hosting a two-hour guitar clinic at Pancho's, the bar/music venue in Logan Square, at 3 p.m. earlier that day, according to a post on Kill Rock Stars's blog.

For 30 clams, Stern's clinic will cover everything from "wee-dilly-wee-dilly-weeeeeeeee" to "dilly-dilly-dilly-dee-dee-dilly." (That's our pathetic onomatopoeic interpretation of Stern's guitar style.)

Joking aside, Stern is one of the best guitarists and songwriters -- and one of the nicest people, period -- out there today, and anyone who can drop the $30 should take advantage of this unique opportunity. Especially Dads with aspiring guitar-playing daughters.
