The Feast reports that the Choco-Dog, the single most decadent food item in Chicago's sausage-filled history, is back on the menu at Hot Doug's for this week only. The sausage/dessert/calorie bomb of yuminess includes a homemade pork, dried cherry, and apple sausage topped with Vosges' Mo's bacon Bar. We can just die happy, right there.

The dog costs $7.50, and we'd call in advance. Owner Doug Sohn told the Feast that when they run out, they run out - and there's no word on when the choco-dog will come out of hiding again. Get it now. A full description of the dog (with number and a list, no less) can be found here.

Hot Doug's is located at 3324 N California Avenue.

Sent this link to a buddy of mine who raced over there after work today and got it. He said if you get more than this be sure to eat this last because it's like a desert sausage, a very good desert sausage.
