Right now, Ryan Dempster is the closest thing the Cubs starting rotation has to a must-win pitcher. Dempster delivered today, striking out eight over six innings of work to silence the Cincinnati bats and snap an eight-game Cubs losing streak. Aramis Ramirez and Carlos Pena homered to back Dempster, while Carlos Marmol nailed down the win with his 11th save of the season.
