The party kicks off a week from tomorrow with a 7 p.m. set by local folk duo Last Kind Words. That’s the only band that day, but Saturday and Sunday are packed with more than a dozen acts, including local favorites Tiger Bones, Architecture, Heavy Times, and Great Society Mind Destroyers. Sprinkled throughout the weekend are DJ sets by HoZac co-founder Todd Novak, Drag City head of staff Rian Murphy, and Hollows organist Maria Jenkins, among others. Full Lineup below.
Saki is an art gallery as well as a record store and performance space, so local artists will join in on the celebration, drawing caricatures and portraits for personalized LP covers. Any Saki receipt from the anniversary weekend is good for a free coffee from New Wave Coffee and a free PBR from The Burlington. It’s also good for a free craft beer and 10% off your next purchase at Logan Square’s Provenance Food & Wine.
By the way, Saki is presenting a show at the Bottom Lounge tomorrow, June 10, featuring Michael Lux and The Bad Sons, Absinthe & The Dirty Floors, and Bigcolour. Anyone who attends will receive a coupon for 15% off at Saki good through the entire weekend celebration.
