Suspects Held in Avondale Shooting
Police have detained two suspects in connection with a Wednesday drive-by shooting that left two girls injured.
The shooting is believed to be gang-related. According to reports, the shooter exited a van, flashed gang signs and fired at a group of people playing basketball. A CAPS meeting was going on at the park at the same time and people at that meeting helped usher children to safety while ducking for cover.
A 2-year-old was grazed in the head by a bullet and a 7-year-old was shot in the back. the condition of the 7-year-old has stabilized while the 2-year old is now in good condition.
