Freighter in Hock for Fueling and Fleeing

We have been shocked by the price at the pump this summer---$50 to gas up just the other day! Still, that’s no excuse to bail without paying. But that is what the owners of a freighter docked just around the corner from Chicago in Burns Harbor, IN are accused of doing, to the tune of more than $500,000. Unsurprisingly, the fuel suppliers are miffed. A Singapore company left holding the bill has filed a federal law suit to repossess and sell the M/V Rosaire A. Desgagnes to cover the costs. We cannot wait to see what the State of Indiana uses to boot this thing in the meantime!

  • The station owner probably forgot to put one of those stickers with the mean looking Indiana State Trooper on the pump. The tanker's captain probably sent the crew into the store to distract the counter person with some lottery ticket argument, then picked them up a little way down the lake.
