FBI Hopes Manhunt Ends With “Got ‘im” Gupta

Gautam Gupta [FBI]
The FBI is looking all over the place for a once highly visible “G” man. Gautam Gupta, whose weight loss clinic advertisements blanket the region’s airwaves, is on the run after feds accused him of defrauding insurance companies out of an unspecified sum. The Trib notes that Gupta collected over $25 million in claims from mid-2001 through the beginning of this year. In a criminal complaint, his clinics are accused of defrauding “Medicaid and a private insurer by repeatedly charging for hundreds of procedures that were medically unnecessary or never performed at all.”

Interpol has been brought into the international manhunt, which comes at the end of an undercover investigation in which law enforcement officers posed as patients at a number of Gupta’s clinics. Previously, he had run into trouble with the Securities and Exchange Commission, as well as the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, which suspended his controlled substances license.

Expect “America’s Most Wanted” to have a blast with this case, if it ever comes back... In the meantime, anyone with information about the doctor's whereabouts is asked to call the Chicago FBI at (312) 421-6700.

Another raciest attempt (and it's spelled raciest in original english for you ignorant Americans, not "racist") to go after a rich doctor who is Indian because about 20% of the doctors in the US are Indian. I have visited the doctor's site and it's not been changed since 2009. It reads:

"To begin the program, you come in for an initial consultation and at that time we complete an EKG; comprehensive lab work, which looks at your thyroid, cholesterol, and blood sugar levels; then you will have a physical related to weight loss by Dr. Gupta or one of his associates. He will review your health history with you and determine, based on your physical and test results, which medication will work best for you. We currently have five different medications available to our patients: Phentermine, Didrex, Tenuate, and Phendimetrazine, which are all appetite suppressants. Xenical, which is a non-systemic medication (meaning it doesn’t go into your blood stream) that works as a fat blocker."

It clearly states that EKG and comprehensive lab work will be performed. If the doctor takes an ultrasound, even better! Obese people often have all sorts of ailments and their organs cannot deal with diets as easily as someone who is fit. The exams are necessary to make sure nothing is wrong with the patient. It specifically mentions that the drugs are appetite suppressants. The site also says:

" For those patients who do not have health insurance the initial consultation is a one-time fee of $195.00, which includes the office visit, the physical by Dr. Gupta (or one of his associates) and all the testing, including the lab fees. The cost of medication is extra. Medication ranges in price from $5-15 per medication per week. The follow-up visits can range between $45.00-$65.00 per week plus the cost of medication."

$195.00 is very reasonable and clearly the costs are told here. Numerous doctors' offices will often have an associate examine the patient but it's counted as a full doctor-visit. Dr. Gupta's website specifically says this as well.

This is obviously a case of the general American public, its government and its doctors being jealous of us. Hey, it's not our fault you rednecks are obese. Be grateful that at least we are trying to help you people! As usual Americans will continue to try and spread their sorry excuse of a culture around the world. No wonder you people are reviled globally by 4 billion people.

Shape up. You still have time before "vae victus" occurs as it did to Rome.

    What makes it raciest?

  • Hahaha, nice try Gupta. Your sock puppet doesn't fool anyone. First off no one really gives a shit what your website says since youre a wanted fugitive. and.. You obviously learned your English from British schools in India, which by the way conquered both your precious Indian culture AND America so if anything you should be blaming the British for your gripes. But hey you still have time to shape up and maybe still have a good enough reputation to not get your ass sent to jail for a long ass time. But nice try playing the race card, and ripping off our country. It's actually pretty funny that you tried to compare yourself to the ACTUAL HARDWORKING, AND HONEST Indian Doctors. You sir, are just a crook, as common as they come. So I really hope you got the fuck out of our country because wouldn't it suck to be in an American Federal prison? I'm sure the inmates in there would really love to show you how much America "loves" you back. I really love that reasoning, "I came to America to ripoff their health system, and since they busted my ass because I'm a stupid fucking idiot, I'm gonna bash the rest, all 300 million Americans and tell you that the whole world hates us. Well boo-fuckin-hoo. The real reason Rome fell is because they probably let people like you in their empire, and 25 million solidii later they realized they got fucked over by some barbarian quack... oh and they didn't have Aircraft carriers. "Woe to the ones on the run from Interpol"

    Wow. Just... Wow.

Every time I heard this guy's add, an image of Jared Leto's mom in 'Requiem for a Dream' popped into my head.

  • I love how his commercials said, "If the first drug we give you doesn't work, we'll keep trying until we find one that does." Yeah that inspires a lot of confidence. Just through those commercials, you could tell this guy was shady.
