Man Arrested for Operating on Dog
Today in "How Not to Treat Your Dog:" a man was arrested on felony animal cruelty charges after it was discovered he was trying to remove a cyst from his pet Doberman.
Stewart Gibbs
44-year-old Stewart Gibbs was intoxicated and had blood on his hands -- imagine that -- when he allowed police to enter his apartment on a well-being check. Police found more blood on the walls and floor and the Doberman with a gaping wound near his right ear where the cyst used to be.
The dog was reported to be in good spirits, despite the ordeal, and was turned over to Chicago Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Care for treatment. The dog is now in the care of Chicago Animal Care and Control.
