Evanston Hosts First Food Truck Festival

2011_6_22FoodTruck.jpg On the heels of Chicago's Food Truck Tuesdays comes Evanston's first Food Truck Meetup, on Sunday, June 26th. If you don't live near a food truck route (or can't be bothered to track them on twitter) it often feels like you are totally left out of this growing trend. Especially if you live in the suburbs, food trucks aren't coming your way very often. If you're a north-sider or an Evanstonian and want a taste of the Hummingbird Kitchen, Flirty Cupcakes or 5411 Empanada trucks, this is the moment for you.

The Stew tipped us off to the gathering, which is organized by the Evanston Parks Coalition. From 11-2, in Grey Park at the corner of Main and Ridge, trucks will be gathering for your dining pleasure. We wouldn't be surprised if a few more trucks sign on before the actual date, but three is a start.
