MTV Looking to Cast Area High School Dropouts for Reality Show

2011_6-24_MTV.png MTV earns its bones these days peddling reality show gruel like True Life and 16 and Pregnant, but they also have programs like Made, pairing pairs students with experts to help them achieve seemingly impossible goals.

The network is hosting a casting call from noon - 4p.m. today at the Waukegan Public Library (128 County St., Waukegan) in which they're looking for outgoing high-school dropouts between the ages of 17 and 20 for a show about going back to school to get their diplomas or equivalency degrees.

The Lake County Regional Office of Education is also using the casting call as an opportunity to host a resource fair after the casting call for people interested in obtaining their diplomas without being filmed doing so.

  • "pairing pairs students with experts" ?  Hey look, one of the dropouts already has a job!   Also, that map doesn't show the correct location of the library.  It's at Clayton and County Streets.

This probably should have been held in the cafeteria at Amundsen High School instead.  What's the drop out rate there... ~55%!?!
