Pride Parade Float Tires Slashed at Home of Float Maker

By Chuck Sudo in News on Jun 26, 2011 2:36PM

Today's Pride Parade may get off to a late start, folks. Windy City Times is reporting that tires to more than 30 floats were slashed or punctured in the lot of one of the parades major float maker's in the Back of the Yards neighborhood.

Associated Attractions owner Chuck Huser said when he arrived at 5 a.m. to prepare drivers for departure, he found each of the floats with two punctured tires. Huser filed a police report and believes the lack of any other vandalism or stolen goods makes this a hate crime. "They didn't want these folks to go out," Huser told Windy City Times.

The haters just gave people at the parade a reason to cheer louder this afternoon.
