White Sox 3, Rockies 2

The White Sox reached the midpoint of the season where they've been for a good part of the season - three games under .500 with a 39-42 record. Yesterday AJ Piezynski's sacrifice fly drove in Carlos Quentin, but only because Rockies catcher Chris Iannetta couldn't bring in an on-target throw from outfielder Seth Smith. Mark Buehrle pitched seven innings but received a no decision for his efforts, while Paul Konerko drove in a run for the White Sox. The South siders and the Rockies meet up in a rubber match at 2:40 p.m.

Cubs 2, Giants 1

Speaking of pitching your ass off and having nothing to show for it, Ryan Dempster pitched a gem for eight innings at Wrigley Field last night, but Aramis Ramirez's single in the ninth inning plated Tony Campana, giving the win to Carlos Marmol in relief of Dempster.
