Last Minute Plans: Pig Roast at Longman & Eagle

2011_7_1Pig.jpg So, it's not quite last minute, but since you might be making your 4th of July plans, you should know about this now. Longman & Eagle
is having a great fourth of july picnic. In fact, it sounds good that the entire Chicagoist food staff, without instruction, forwarded the email on to me saying "we have to post this." Even John, our dedicated vegetarian, said the he wished he ate meat, just so he could go to this picnic.

Longman & Eagle, the Logan Square hipster paradise and Michelin-starred food temple, is hosting a "Pig Picnic." For $20, you get Cuban-style roast Slagel Farm hog, with corn on the cob, bacon, spring onion potato salad, baked beans & coleslaw. The only thing that isn't included is booze - and after only spending $20 for that much food, you'll have plenty of cash left over for a few drinks.

The event is on the patio, starting at 5 PM. We'd get there early, there's sure to be a line.

Longman & Eagle is located at 2657 N. Kedzie Avenue.

  • I usually really like what Longman & Eagle does, but this pig roast was pretty underwhelming...
