Kanye West Rocks Wisconsin at Summerfest

By Samantha Abernethy in Arts & Entertainment on Jul 2, 2011 8:00PM

Our neighbors in Wisconsin are in the throes of Summerfest, that seemingly never-ending music festival. And that Chicagoan with the seemingly never-ending ego Kanye West performed Thursday night for over two hours.
Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel writes:

West did test fans' patience with an inexcusable hourlong gap between Kid Cudi's too-short 25-minute opening gig and the start of his own. Yet from the moment he revealed himself in the middle of the amphitheater, the soulful chorus of "Dark Fantasy" flooded the space and all seemed instantly forgiven.
Never one to miss an opportunity to speak his mind, Kanye talked about the controversy surrounding his music video for "Monster," saying, ""They won't let real artists be artists. They want commercial yes men." Photos by Joshua Mellin.
