While we're sitting on pins and needles wondering if President Obama will appease the GOP and offer cuts to Social Security in exchange for an increase in the debt ceiling, Sun-Times gossip columnist Stella Foster is reporting Obama will ring in his golden birthday with a concert at the Aragon Ballroom on Aug. 3.

The President's birthday is Aug. 4, but he'll be using the Aragon as a combination birthday celebration and campaign fundraiser. Lucky couples with $35,800 to spend will also have an opportunity to dine with the President at the Aragon, while the newly slim Jennifer Hudson is being considered as one of the acts for the concert.

Having helped planned a fundraiser at the Aragon, we have one suggestion for Team Obama: get more air conditioning for the space. It gets hot as a motherhubbard in there in August.

You know how it is -- acts past their sell-by date book smaller venues.

Maybe for his 51st, he'll book the Vic.

Ummm .... $35,800? That's change we can believe in!

  • Only if it's paid in quarters.

The Secret Service will not only shut down the streets around the Aragon, they'll probably even shut down the L next door.
What a mess in Uptown that day!
