According to their website, the ever elusive and enigmatic trip-hop phenomenon that is Portishead have decided to venture stateside for a tour for the first time in three years and to Chicago for the first time in over ten years. Never one to rush their music, the outfit has taken their time coming back, and we have to say, it's most likely worth the wait.

They'll be making their first jaunt across the pond at the All Tomorrows Parties Festival in New Jersey and then skip across the east and Midwest to New York City, Toronto, Montreal, and Chicago before making their last appearances out west. Portishead will be playing uptown's Aragon Ballroom on Oct. 12 and tickets will go on sale this Friday, June 15. today on their website.
