DJ_Funk.jpg Juke continues to be a burgeoning scene in 2011, no matter how old its roots may be. The scene's emergence as "buzzworthy" can be linked to a bevy of new producers exploring its sounds, everywhere from here in Chicago to Seattle to the UK. But while juke may be making waves all over the world, Chicago still holds it down more than anyone, and the proof will be tomorrow as Smart Bar will host Juke Fest 2011 with headliners DJ Funk and Gant-Man.

DJ Funk and Gant-Man are two of juke's biggest players, having influenced just about any young gun juke producer in the world. They'll be joined by some equally talented DJs, including Rampage of Ghetto Division, Louie Q, DJ Spinn, DJ Rashad, Traxman, Bobby Skillz and Nehpets. If you ever needed a primer on this fine, fine genre of jackin' beats, hit this up.

Juke Fest is tomorrow, Smart Bar, 3730 N. Clark St., 10pm, $11+ tickets, 21+
