It's New to Us: Rorschmap

Internet lord extraordinaire Jason Kottke hips us to a freaky Google Maps mashup called Rorschmap. Creator James Bridle describes Rorschmap thus:

(It's) cartographic navel-gazing, a reframing of the map. It will not help you find anything. We are bored with your squares and your margins. We want new shapes and new dimensions, the unicode snowmen of visual representation.

What Bridle did was take the Google Maps shots of various cities to create a kaleidoscope effect. The first city you'll see when you go to the site is London. Kottke was mesmerized with Paris and its "Mega Seine." We were enthralled by Singapore.

And here's Chicago.
