Morning Box Score: Big Z Has Bucs Number, White Sox Fail vs. Yankees

Cubs 5, Pirates 3

The Cubs latest stop on their trail of tears took them to PNC Park to take on the rising Pirates. Carlos Zambrano did just enough to earn the win, scattering seven hits over six innings of work. Big Z did give up a home run to new Pirate and former teammate Derrek Lee (One of two home runs on the night for Lee). Most important, the Cubs played errorless ball in the field to support Zambrano.

Yankees 3, White Sox 2

Jake Peavy looked strong as the game progressed. Peavy lasted seven innings on the mound and the Sox lineup were hitting what Yankees ace CC Sabathia was throwing their way. Once again, the Sox couldn't drive in runs, save for Alexei Ramirez's two-run homer in the fourth inning. The Sox were 1 for 8 with runners in scoring position
