Afternoon Box Score: Cubs Crush Reds 11-4

2011_08_06_boxscore.jpg The Cubs extended their winning streak to seven today -- their longest since August 2008 -- by crushing the Cincinnati Reds at Wrigley Field this afternoon. Carlos Zambrano put in a stellar performance and sealed his spot as the best hitter among active MLB pitchers: He has driven in a run and earned the win 38 times in his career. The Cubs started out slow, but started dominating in the fourth and fifth inning. They capitalized on some of the Reds' mistakes, including the embarrassing collision in shallow center field pictured above.
