This Weekend in Street Fests

Drew Baker captures some of the action from last year's North Halsted Marketdays.

The Cubs are in Atlanta this weekend but that doesn't mean traffic around the Friendly Confines will be any less congested. North Halsted Market Days is back for another round of fabulousness. The largest street festival in the Midwest will shut down Halsted Street from Belmont to Addision.

A bit to the west of Wrigley Field, Wrigleyville Summerfest will block off the 3300 block of North Seminary.

Out Little Italy way, Taylor Street Festa Italiana kicked off last night and runs through the weekend. (Taylor Street at Ashland Ave.)

Our favorite of the lot is Ginza Festival Chicago. The 56th annual celebration of Japanese culture kicks off at 5:30 p.m. and runs throughout the weekend. (Midwest Buddhist Temple, 435 W. Menomonee St.)
