Green City Market Cancelled on Saturday Due to Air and Water Show

2011_8_3GCM5.jpg We noticed a tweet from SeedlingFarms this morning, mentioning that shoppers should be sure to hit up the Green City Market this Wednesday, because it would be closed on Saturday. We hadn't heard anything, so we got in touch with them - it's confirmed: There will be no Green City Market this coming Saturday.

According to a spokesperson for the market, The city's department of Special Events asked that the market be closed, due to the crowds from the Air and Water Show. For the farmers at the market, loading and unloading is always a bit of a pain, and with the level of traffic that the show will bring to the lakefront, it would've been almost impossible.

If you need to get your GCM fix, go Wednesday. If you still want to visit a market this weekend, check out the city's Farmers Market page or head to the Glenwood Sunday Market.
