Portugal. The Man Say Thanks With Baked Goods

Portugal The Man Ian Shaw.jpg Food is fuel. It’s an important thing to remember as a festival-goer, and something that Lollapalooza performers Portugal. The Man understand is important to another exhausting activity: crime fighting.

After the Chicago Police Department recovered most of their gear which was stolen during the music fest two weeks ago, the band promised to thank the detectives, and yesterday came through on that promise, sending doughnuts, croissants and danishes from Bake For Me! Bakery & Café to the Homan Square police station.

In the same note where band member John Gourley asked the CPD not to "be offended when we send a pile of doughnuts over,” he called the recovery of their gear a “win” for the band, as well as for the world of social media, the Chicago police and old school journalism. We ask who would ever scoff at baked goods? Certainly not us.

Portugal. The Man return to Chicago to play the Metro on October 15.
