Video Captures Police Roughing Up Liquor Store Workers

Fox News Chicago aired surveillance video last night of police roughing up two young men they suspected were robbing a liquor store on the Southwest side, but were actually closing it up.

Michael and Adrian Ayala were closing up the 7-9-11 Food and Liquor store on Archer Avenue when police rolled up after observing Adrian Ayala outside the store on his bicycle while Michael was in the store looking for keys. Police handcuffed Adrian Ayala. When his brother went outside to explain, Michael Ayala was roughed up.

Police eventually let the Ayalas free, but an angry Michael Ayala yelled he had the cops on the security video you see below. The cops, in Michael Ayala's words, "bum-rushed" him and his brother.

Both 8th District Headquarters and the Independent Police Review Authority have launched investigations into the incident.
