Smart Phone App Rates Chicago Taxis

River North Resident Adam Saffro was so disgusted by a cab ride one night he decided to create a tongue-in-cheek smartphone app where users can rate their cab rides.

"Smelly Taxi" allows users to rate the cabs they hire by odor, cleanliness and professionalism, based on a five-star system, across Chicago and other major cities. Saffro told the Sun-Times "If word gets out, it might give (cabdrivers) a little more reason to clean up their act or make their cabs smell better.”

We aren't so certain about that. We're just happy to step into a cab where the driver doesn't think he's taking part in the 24 Hours of LeMans. the Smelly Taxi app may be found at the iTunes App Store.
