Two 16-year-old boys have been charged with shooting a 1-year-old girl in the head in the South Chicago neighborhood. Prosecutors say that around 8 a.m. Tuesday morning, Gary Moore and Fredrick Dean attempted to shoot a 27-year-old riding his bicycle nearby when they struck the girl. The Tribune writes:

Police said the shooters have gang ties and were apparently looking to shoot someone from a rival gang. The bicyclist, according to police, told investigators he wasn't part of a gang.

The toddler's teen aunt tried to shield her from the gunfire. The little girl has undergone surgery and is still hospitalized. The teens have each been charged with two counts of attempted murder and one count of aggravated battery with a firearm.

It'd be nice to see the same treatment for their gang the MLDs have gotten since they shot those two kids in Avondale. Arrest all of them.
