- Libertad, a modern latin restaurant in Skokie, just announced its opening for tonight. Chef Armando Gonzalez has done time at Bin 36 and MK, and has created a complex menu of latin favorites. Try the Poblano Temupra, a poblano pepper tempura-fried with goat cheese, wild mushrooms, tofu, epazote and salsa de árbol.
7931 Lincoln Avenue, Skokie.

- Another food truck just hit the scene - we're getting overwhelmed, but this one has us excited. Lillie's Q, the Bucktown BBQ hotspot, is launching the "Lillie's Q Meat Mobile." It's taking real effort not to make silly puns about the name, but there's nothing silly about the sandwiches - pulled pork and pulled chicken on brioche with a side and a sauce for $10. They hope to get started after Labor Day, so start following them on Twitter.

- DMK, the always-packed, always grass-fed burger joint venture of David Morton and Michael Kornick has opened another location. Suburbanites rejoice - It's in Lombard and it opened on Tuesday. The new DMK will have the same menu as the Chicago location, and will also continue the charitable giving programs of the original location. 2370 Fountain Square Drive, Lombard.

- This week, restaurant blogs were all-aflutter with the opening of Michael Jordan's Steakhouse on North Michigan Avenue. Grubstreet got a look at the interior and The Local Beet was pleasantly surprised that some local farms were featured on the menu. If you need a 38 ounce prime porterhouse (for a whopping $89), or you like athlete-driven power restaurants, make your reservations now. 505 N. Michigan Avenue.
